Since 2012, Eva Edit Nagypal, PhD has excelled as a senior economist at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where she works on credit reporting, mortgages, and public records; oversees account overdrafts; and handles internal and external reports.

Motivated by staunch perseverance, Dr. Nagypal has always strived to be a public servant. Upon earning a Bachelor of Science in economics and a Master of Arts in international economics and finance from the Brandeis International Business School in the 1990s, she attained a PhD in economics from Stanford University in 2001. She was subsequently active as an assistant professor at Northwestern University from 2002 to 2009 and then worked in litigation consulting for a few years at Navigant Economics before advancing to her current role.

In addition to her primary endeavors, Dr. Nagypal has published numerous articles and volunteered at feeding programs. He’s also a dedicated member of the American Economic Association and the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association. Looking ahead toward the future, she would like to keep working with her current company and continue to be a public servant.
